Getting Ready...

To move, that is! We have already started packing, have most of the small stuff taken care of, and we load it all into the truck on Monday. Doing it all little by little over the past couple of weeks has made things seem easier, but I'm still not looking forward to the deep-cleaning once everything is out. My top three challenges are going to be cleaning out the oven (found out the self-cleaning function doesn't work on ours), cleaning the blinds, and detailing the bathroom. Ugh.

I'm just trying to keep my focus on Wednesday, because then we'll be down there and getting settled in and we'll never have to worry about cleaning this apartment again! I will really miss this place, it is one of the most beautiful apartments I have lived in. Definitely will miss our little garden area out back and the separate garage that's been so nice for getting the camping stuff, etc. out of our main living space.

Another more short-term thing I am looking forward to is something that should be coming in the mail tomorrow! I ordered the Urban Decay Ammo Palette from Sephora--last Wednesday night--and I can't wait for it to get in. I can't believe it's actually taken over a week for me to get a Sephora order... but it's the first time I've ordered while living here, so maybe that's just normal. All I can really hope for is that it comes on or before Monday, or else I might not get it! How sad. Hopefully it does come tomorrow, because then I can play with it for a few and then maybe do my own review on it!

A Quick One!

I just wanted to do a real quick blog before Travis gets home from work. We gave our 30 days notice to our landlords today, although we are really moving out in 2 weeks. Yesterday I went to Target to get a bunch of cleaning supplies, so hopefully I don't have to put too much more elbow grease into cleaning than usual. I know I'll be sore from helping Travis move stuff into the big truck. I also got these (yay!):

Pretty gold flip flops

... I saw them in this YouTube video :-)

...and some sunglasses that are not on the Target website, and it's 10:30 right now so I won't take a picture of them (maybe later).

So, I just wanted to share those couple of things :-) Good night!

Moving & Makeup

Just found out we are moving at the end of this month! Which means it is time to start packing, packing, packing. I seriously hate moving. When we get down there, we are going to be staying in Travis' parents' trailer until we can find our own place to move into. We aren't going to be able to look at places beforehand so this is a way we can take our time looking and also save up for the deposit. On the other hand, that means we are going to have very limited living space!

One of the first things I did in preparation for our new living arrangements is to consolidate my makeup collection a little. Whatever I don't think I'll be using this summer will go into storage, and my absolute must-haves are going into a 3-drawer see-thru rubbermaid/sterilite
unit. I bought mine a while ago from Target, during the back-to-college promotion. I think it was around $10 or so.

The way I pared down my stash was by devoting the top drawer to makeup, the middle drawer to body care/perfume, and the bottom drawer to hair styling tools and products. I can't believe I narrowed down all of my products so much! It was especially hard to decide which Bath and Body Works products I wanted to keep out for the summer. I decided I'll be wearing plenty of Exotic Coconut! My choice perfumes for this summer are DKNY Be Delicious (of course), Britney Spears' Fantasy, Circus Fantasy, and Curious.

I hope I can find the perfect spot for my little stash! Next thing we need to figure out is where to put all of our clothes :-/

Easter!

This has got to be one of the most boring Easters ever. It's raining outside, and I'm cold. Travis had to close tonight at work. I'm bored, and Blondie wants to go outside every 5 minutes but once she gets outside, she remembers that she hates the rain and runs back in without producing, lol.

Anyway, I guess I'll just pretend it's another Sunday.

I've really been wanting to go for a little shopping trip lately. Ever since we got back from Travis' parents' house I've been feeling kinda cooped up in here. I want to find a new dress for either the rehearsal dinner or maybe the day after the wedding. Other than that I just want to see new things, smell new smells, and be around other people!

Travis' "future district manager" never called on Friday, so we still don't know when we're moving. Blahhh

March Favorites!

First of all, guess what I can say now that it's April 1st?

I'm getting married next month!

Oh my gosh. I said it to Travis earlier and we were both just wide-eyed, lol. I can't believe it's getting so close! And I found out yesterday that my dad's side of the family is all coming to the wedding. Yay!

Ok, on to what I originally wanted to post about. I have seen a few people talk about their monthly favorites, which basically means they list everything they used a lot during the previous month on the first of the current month. I thought it sounded like fun, and I have a number of products I have been using quite a lot lately so I decided it would be fun to do March favorites. So, in no particular order:

Malibu Tan Hemp Golden Glow Skin Firming Bronzing Moisturizer:

I have been using this for a couple of years now during the warmer weather so I don't appear too pasty. Now that spring is here, it has made its 2010 debut! This is a gradual tanner, so it takes a couple of days to build up, but this is the most natural looking, best smelling gradual tanner I have tried. Another great thing about it is that it's only around $6 at WalMart for 18 oz. I am on my 4th or 5th bottle, which is insane for me! I definitely love this stuff.

Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Combination/Oily Skin:

My current shade is 200 Nude. I have been using this soo much! I took it with me to Travis' parents and used it every single day. It did not break me out and I was definitely less oily than with previous foundations I have tried. It also has really good coverage, and funny thing is: you can use less product AND get heavier coverage if you use a flat top blush brush to stipple it on and then buff in with circular motions. I set with the ColorStay powder in the compact and then add my bronzer and blush.

Milani Powder Mosaics #06 Sunset Spice:

Current favorite bronzer... I just swirl my brush around in it, use a little heavier to contour under my cheekbones and then a lighter hand to warm up the rest of my face. This is a completely matte bronzer. I got mine back when CVS was having their 50-75% sale.

L'Oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Cream Cleanser:
I decided to use this the week we were gone because I figured I wouldn't be able to wash my face according to my usual routine. It worked great! I really didn't notice any breakouts, so the salicylic acid in it really did its job. And I looove how the little scrublet feels on my face. It's so tingly!

And some other honorable mentions:

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
MAC Select Cover-Up
Got2B Guardian Angel Heat Protect 'N Blow Dry
Essence of Beauty Brow/Lid Kit
